Rubber candy, not rubber bullets by IlinN Rubber candy, not rubber bullets by IlinN
A protester giving some gummy candy to a police officer guarding the government building. Photograph taken today.
The title is actually what the young man was saying to the police officer - he was referring to the recently passed bill that allows riot police to use rubber bullets and electroshock weapons to disperse protests.

A series of leaked phone conversations in which the minister of internal affairs Gordana Jankuloska and other government officials attempt to cover up the murder of 22-year old Martin Neshkovski by a member of the special police force back in 2011 sparked massive protests in the capital of Macedonia, Skopje. People took to the streets demanding responsibility for the murder from everyone involved in the attempted cover-up. These recent protests come in a time where many citizens are already on the streets protesting against the totalitarian government of PM Nikola Gruevski.
